SOCIALISM AND ITS CRITICS.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —Socialism has been defined timos out of number, yet there are a few who cry it down and yet do not understand what it really means. Those objectors remind one of the young lady who was asked could she speak or understand French. No, sho couldn't, but her mother once lived next door to a French-polisher. The time has come when men and women must work t'or the salvation of all in the State with as much zeal and courage as they now work for the in-, dividual. Honest and earnest men and women go to China, India and elsewhesro to save souls. Surely the work of saving a country from lawless ambition and the greed of gold should win recruits from all ranks. To educate the democracy and work for the good of all is not a dream but the highest
aim of humanity, else the Sermon on ti??- Mount is a fairy tale and tho Lord’s Prayer a nivtli. —1 am. etc., T.J.G.
