WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY

TELEFUNKEN SYSTEM IN SOUTH

AMERICA. United Press Association —By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. (Received March 5, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 4

Brazil is making wireless telegraphy a Government monopoly. The German Telefunken Company has been commissioned to erect six stations. Marconi’s application for a concession was rejected, although he offered the Government, besides lower rates, 50 per cent of the gross earnings.

The Argentine, Peru, Chili and Uruguay are also taking the sanje steps, and have ordered a number of Telefunken stations. The Argentine’s seven stations will cover the entire coastline.
