During a storm atWagga, lightning struck and destroyed a wire fence four miles long, every knot being seared through. Fifty grass fires were started, but were quickly' extinguished. SHARE FARMING RESULTS. A remarkable wheat yield is reported at Sandra, where share farming is carried out. Dart’s Imperial yielded up to forty-two bushels to the acre. DISFRANCHISED. MELBOURNE, January 10. Proclamations have been issued disfranchising the residents of the Federal capital and the Northern Territory. The Government will consider steps to ensuro their representation. STATE IMMIGRATION. The Federal Government lias received a suggestion from the New South Wales Government that the Commonwealth should control State immigration. Air Fisher does nob think that the idea is practicable, as great difficulty would arise in regard to allotting the proportions. THE VANCOUVER SERVICE. The Federal Government to-day despatched a cablo to Canada regarding the Vancouver mail service. It is understood that the Government, still holds out against the inclusion of Auckland, especially in view of the fact of New Zealand having u reciprocal trade agreement with Canada. THE HARRIS MURDER. PERTH, January' 10. At the inquest on the remains found in the iron foundry, Mrs Harris identified the dental plate found as that of hor daughter Ethel. Other articles were identified, and the inquest was adjourned.
