ROWING ASSOCIATION.

The Canterbury Rowing Association met last evening; present—Messrs F. D. Kesteven (chairman). W. K. Smith, W. Duggan, J. H. Keeiley. A. H. Ilayman. F. IV. Dunnage, P. Lynskey, F. M’Cullongh, H. Berry. H. Kennedy and H. Herbert Smith (honorary secretary). The Kaiapoi Regatta Committee’s programme was approved. Tho Lyttelton Regatta Committee forwarded a cheque for £ll, being the first and second prize money, in the Youths’ Double Sculls at the Regatta on January 2. The committee explained that when the race was first rowed a boat bad got in the way of the Cure Club’s turning flag, on account of which the crew had to row a greater distance, and was then beaten only on the post. Akaroa. and Cure wore ordered to re-row the race after a protest from Onre, but Akaroa refused to row again, and Cure- was placed first/ with Akaroa second. Akaroa had entered a. protest against the payment of the prize money. The secretary said that he .had received tho protest from Akaroa, and that tho umpires had not given their decision. . . Tho matter was deferred until next meeting.
