HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l am very sorry that I havei been incorrectly reported in the remarks I made at the meeting of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. I never used the word “dilatory” and I never made a “ protest ’ against tho chairman of the Institutions Committee, especially as he was absent at tho time. I was very careful to blame nobody, but merely to point to the fact that there had only been one meeting of the Inst : buttons Committee since the Board began, and to express regret and disapproval of this condition of affairs. I am absolutely loyal to the chairman of the committee on which I serve. No doubt the reason why the Institutions Committee has only sat once is due to the fact that there is a rush of work at the Charitable Aid offices, and probably the chairman of the Institutions Committee has been simply waiting for information as to the dav and hour for a meeting of his committee. I hope wo shall soon settle down to regular fortnightly work.—l am, etc., E. W. OUNNINGTON.
