17G9 OUTINGS PROVIDED. Tho promoters of the Fresh Air Fund are making thoir annual appeal to the people of New Zealand. The fund is established for the purpose of giving the thousands of children who occupy the worst slums of the large cities of Great Britain a day's outing in the oountry ; . and in tho most neglected cases a more extended holiday. It in administered entirely without expense, and every penny subscribed towards it is applied directly to tho uses of the children. For 9d one child can be given a long day in the country, while for a contribution of 10s some little mite can be made happy for a whole long fortnight. Subscriptions may be left at the commercial effico of the " Lyttolton Times ' or addressed to the editor in envelopes endorsed "Fresh Air Fund." The following subscriptions have been received: —
