The Employers' F-ederation of the shipbuilding trade has given, notice to eighteen Trade Unions which signed the agreement in March, 1909, that there have been frequent strikes in contravention of the agreement, adding that at Cho next stoppage every member of the Uni ms in the three kingdoms will be locked out The executive of the Boiier Makers' Union lias issued a circulai endorsing tho complaint, and comic/uhiuß tho men for striking without notice or.consulting the local and national executives.

COMPENSATION CASES. [l'ta Press Association*.] WELLINGTON, June 14. The Arbitration Court to-day dismissed a case in which Robert Wylie claimed compensation from Messrs M'Leau and Sou in consequence of an accident. Erasmus Paisley Robertson claimed compensation from Messrs Huddart, Parker and Co., steamship owners, for injury to his left hand caused by jambitlg between two logs of hardwood while discharging timber from the Ulilnaroa, and resulting in total incapacity. According to the statement of claim, the plaintiff's left hand had become permanently and wholly useless. The claim was foT £3OO, the amount scheduled in the Workers Compensation Act for loss of the left hand, less the Amounts dedUctablo in respect of cash payment and weekly payments under the Act. Mr OTtogan appeared for the plaintiff and Mi- Blair for the defendants. Both parties had agreed as to the facts, and were both prepared to accept a renort by Dr Henry', which was handed in. Mr O'Regan, however, submitted that the report showed total incapacity of the hand, while Mr Blair contended that the effect of tho doctor's statements Was that four fingers only were incapacitated. The Judge said that the Court was of opinion that the doctor's report amounted to total loss of the use of the hand. Tho allowance under the Act in such a case was 65 per cent of the compensation for total incapacity of the worker. The parties could work out tho amount themselves. Plaintiff was awarded £3 3s costs.
