NEW ZEALAND SOCIETY OF ACCOUNTANTS.

TO THE EDITOR. gj rj —My attention has been, drawn 'jo a letter in your issue, of this morning referring to a correction I made trf your report .of the meeting of accountants held last Tuesday. In dictating the letter to my typist, the expression I used was "non-practising accountante." but in typing tho letter on the machine the young lady in my office inadvertently left out the word '• practising." When I read my letter hi your issue of Thursday, I at once saw the mistake, but I felt that anyone pf intelligence must have seen that it iwas either a printer's or a typist's error, and the fact of no ono speaking to mo on the subject would go to show Sthat my opinion of tho intelligence of jth© ordinary man must bo fairly correct. However, it remained for Mr T. P. Strange to take another view of the ftiattor. .■ It is only a gentleman of Mr Btrange's perspicacity who would fail fo see that it was either a printer's or & typist's error. The rest of his remarks need no comment from me. I Jwith others received a copy ,of Mr Btrange's egotistical circular, and from the portrait of the building at the bottom of it, unless one knew otherwise, it would lead one to believe that Mr Strange was the occupant of a most magnificent suite of offices, or owner of ,tho beautiful buildings so artistically portrayed at the foot of his circular.— \ am, etc., RONALD 0. DUNCAN. Ouster gk
