CHRISTCHURCH LADIES' CLUB. Tho first round of the Christchurch La* dies' Goif Club's championship was played at Shirley yesterday. The following are th* results:—Mrs Day beat Miss Holmes, 4 up and 2 to play; Mrs Boys beat Miss Wood, 5 up and 4 to play; Miss Rnlherford beat Miss A. Humphreys, 2 up; Miss Campbell beat Miss B. Wood, 6 up and 5 to play. The second' round will be played to-day. Tho draw is as 'follows:—Mrs Day plays Mrs Boys, Miss Cowlishaw''plays Miss Hariey, Mrs Borthwick plays Miss Rutherford, M«s Campbell plays Mrs Cowlishaw. The men's monthly medal competition' iu connection with tho Ashburton Golf Club was played on Thursday and Saturday, and tlie ladies' competition on Saturday.
