.t, MISS ADA WARD’S VISIT. /. Mias, Ada Ward, tho actress who recently gave up the stage to join the Salvation Army, will arrive in Christchurch from Timaru by the first express train this afternoon. Miss Ward, who ie now familiarly described by her friends as the “ actress-evangelist,” has been lecturing under the auspices ' bf the Salvation Army at Timaru, ‘Oa.naru, Dunedin and Invercargill, to large audiences, and has won a reputation as an orator. She will begin a campaign at the Sydenham Salvation Army barracks on Sunday at 3 p .m., ana will speak at his Majesty’s Theatre at 7 p.ra., and on Monday, Tuesday/ Wednesday and Thure- ; day. She will give lectures entitled—“My Life StoTy/' and “ Can an Act- - resa be'a.'Christian P” Miss Ward deoles a statement that she is about to return to the stage as an actress, and will make an explanation in regard to fehe origin, of the rumour.
