ROAD BOARDS.

SPRINGS. A meeting of the Springs Road Board was held on Tuesday; present—Alessrs Wolfe (chairman), Kimber, Alurray and Rennie. A letter was read, asking the Board to clean Alurray’s drain at Groonpark. The Board expressed regret that as no tenders had been received for this and other drains, it could not get them cleaned as soon as was desired, but would have them cleaned at the first opportunity. The secretary of the Road Boards’ Association wrote, forwarding particulars of business to be transacted at tho annual meeting, to be held on May 8, and the chairman was appointed to represent the Board at the meeting. It was decided to ask the chairman of the Selwyn County Oouncit to watch the proceedings at tho hearing of tho general labourers’ dispute on behalf of the Board. The South Waimakariri River Board forwarded a copy of a special order making a rate of one sixty-fourth of a penny in the pound for the current year. The overseer’s report was considered, and it was decided that the annual meeting of ratepayers should be held at 7 p.m. on Alay 4. Accounts for £69 5s Id wore passed for payment.
