THE BROKEN HILL TRIALS.
TOM MANN ACQUITTED. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, April 29. The Judge, in summing up in Tom Mann’s case, said that Mann’s speeches were materially against him, for they showed that lie was at all times prepared to offer resistance to the police. The jury after five hours’ deliberation returned a verdict of not guilty. (Received April 30, 12.20 a.m.) Mr Tom Mann addressed the crowd shortly after his acquittal. He said that he would not have whimpered if he had got five years for the job. They were once more released from man’s oppression, and by the God that made them they would let the capitalist crowd know it in the future.
