THE MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND April 29. For the Onehunga Mayoralty Mr John Rowe was returned with 724 votes, against Mr J. B. Martin’s 276. The Auckland City Council election resulted in the return of the following: —Messrs Entrican, Bagnall, Parr, Mennie, Mackay, Tudehope, Casey, Knight, Tatt, Nerheny, Smeeton, Read, Patterson, Thompson and M’Callum. HAWERA, April 29. For the Mayoralty Mr H. W. Sutton was returned with 267 votes, against Mr L. S. Canning 78 and Mr J. Brunette 66. STRATFORD, April 29. The Mayoral election resulted as follows:—Mr G. Sangster 392 votes, Mr W. P. Kirkwood 232. FEILDING, April 29. The following councillors were elected at yesterday’s poll:—Messrs A. H. Atkinson, J. W. Bramwell, A. Richmond, E; Goodbehero, T. West, H. Tolley, G. J. Harford, G. H. Sangwell and A. Williamson. ELTHAM, April 29. Of twelve candidates for the borough election tho following nine were elected : —Messrs T. C. Stanners, L. Hill, F. Amoore, H. G. Carman, G. W. Tayler, S. T. Cooper, M. Blackball, W. C. Clement, H. C. Lake. Mr Edwin Parrott had been elected Mayor unopposed. NELSON, April 29. Seven old councillors offered themselves for re-election, and all were returned. One of the two new councillors was formerly in tho Council for some years. BLENHEIM, April 29. Tho election for the Blenheim Mayoralty resulted as follows:—Mr Archibald M’Callum, the retiring Mayor, 462; Mr John Conolly 322. Of the six old Councillors who offered themselves only three were re-elected. HOKITIKA, April 29. Mr J. A. Murdoch was re-elected Mayor of Kumara yesterday by a majority of sixteen over his opponent, Mr T, Kennedy.

The poll for tho election of members of tho Geraldine Borough Council was not a heavy one. Mr F. R. Flatman had been elected Mayor without opposition, and there was no question prominently before tho electors. There were seven candidates for six seats on tho Council, all six members of the 'old Council standing again. Tlio only now candidate, Mr F. Paterson, secured a seat. The voting was ae follows: —W. A. Sherratt 146, J. M. Sutherland 141, T. Sherratt 131, J. Kennedy 119, R. Taylor 110, Dr Paterson 98, E. H. Logan 81. The election of nine members of tho Temuka Borough Council resulted in tho return of Messrs D. M’lnnes 182 votes, A. C. Watson 179, W. F. Evans 177, A. Frow 172, J. M’Lean 164, A. Gibson 168, C. J. Mahan 168, John Holwell 148 and A. Calder 145. Messrs T. Edwards, jun., 134 and F. W. Sal- ■ men 83 wero the remaining candidates.
