TRAMWAY EXTENSION.

TO THE EDITOR. _ Sir, —To.ur correspondent Sir A.- F. Wright gives some absurd figures in respect to the cost of a tram up the Dyer’s Pass Road. /Like him, T will with your permission have more to say about this later on. In the meantime permit me to point out that the whole agitation for the Hackthorue, Road, tram emanates from those who have bought sections on that road, and who expect the Tramway Board to make three-quarters of a mile of track to the foot of the road, on the assurance that if the Board does so they will build their houses thereon. I submit that those who have built, and settled on the Dyer’s Pass Road are entitled ; to this convenience, and the more, so as this route lias such infinitely greater possibilities of side extensions (vide Air Brittan’s letter) than has the Hackthorne Road route. As to tbe question of Anonymity, whether I live on the unner slopes or practically on the flat, this question .is not a personal one, and therefore I sign as before. —I am, etc., RESIDENT.
