THEATRE ROYAL. Mr Harry Richards’s vaudeville company attracted a large audience to the Theatre Roval last evening, and the juggling feats of Paul Cinquevalh were again a popular feature of the entertainment. The other turns were entertaining, and were received with applause, The programme will be repeated this evening. COLOSSEUM. At the Colosseum last evening the Wide World Pictures attracted a large audience, and the films were heartily received. The dramatic pictures were of an interesting nature, and the humorous ones evoked hearty laughter. The programme will be repeated this evening. OPERA HOUSE. The Cinenhone drew another good audience last evening, and the singing pictures proved thoroughly enjoyable. The other films, particularly those of travel, wore very good, and applause was frequent. The pictures will he shown again this evening. "THE WOMAN PAYS.” On Monday evening at the Opera House a successful drama, “ The Woman Pays,” will be presented by Mr Edwin Geacli’s Dramatic Company. The drama has already been presented by this company to overflowing audiences in Melbourne and Sydney, ana in the former city it ran for six weeks. In Sydney the average weekly attendance was over ten thousand for a period of five weeks. The company includes well-known Australian aotors. The stage will be under the direction of Mr Harry Norman, while the production will be personally supervised by Mr George Marlow, who is travelling with the company. The plan of seats is at the Dresden. WEST’S PICTURES. 'The chief item in the programme to ho presented by West’s Pictures on Monday is an art study called “The Red Hand.” The story is laid in Paris, and unfolds a plot of remarkablo interest, and incidentally introduces the

famous “ Danse des Apaohes,” which is now the "rage” in Europe. Thia picture is said to be an advance l on. ordinary moving pictures, as the characters are represented bv some famoiiß artists, including Sarah Bernhardt, Severin and Max Dearly. ’The supporting pictures will all be new to Christchurch.
