ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
[Per Press Association.] NAPIER, April 25. The police were advised to-day that a man named Charlee Watt, aged twentyeight year®, single, had committed suicide by shooting himself at Okawa Station, near Hastings, where ho -was employed. Deceased suffered very much with varicose veins in the legs, which worried him a great deal. Ho was quite rational last week, and had promised to take a holiday. , GORE, April 24. G. H. Major, attached to a travelling concert company, while engaged in cowering skylights, for a matinee, at the Town llall, fell through the glass to the floor,' and sustained severe injuries. He was kneeling on the skylight without precautions for safety, at the time. An elderly woman residing in St Albans was taken to the Christchurch Hospital early last evening by her son-in-law, who stated that she had been drinking a solution of matchheads in water. The usual remedies for such a case were applied, and the patient waa out of danger soon after her admission.
