A fire commenced at four o’clock this morning in a large six-storey building in George Street, part of which was occupied as a branch po6t office and by the “ Bulletin ” newspaper. At 6.30 the post office was gutted, but the “ Bulletin ” office was practically undamaged. The damage will probably amount to £50,000. (Received April 22, 9.20 p.m.) The firo destroyed £15,000 worth of postal stores, including £9OO worth of stamps and postal notes.
