PIGEON FLYING.

The Chrisicliurch Homing Pigeon Societyflow off a raoo from Seacliff on Saturday, thirty-one birds, representing fourteen lofts, competing. The birds were- libernted at 9 a.m. in fine weather, with a very strong norlli-cast wind to face. The winner was -Mr H. Hearfteld's Dolly Vardcn, which flew the distance of 182 miles 1637 yards in Ghr Stain 24sec. The following is vko result:—H. Hearfield'B Do-!ly Varden, 767yds per minute; E.
