[FitOM OtTR CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON, July 23. CHEVIOT MATTERS. A return, presented on the motion of Mr Buddo, stated that 106 of the original settlers on the Cheviot estate are still in occupation of their holdings. The working of Port Robinson, Cheviot for the year ended March 31 last resulted in a credit balance of £4B 15s. The revonue from inward cargo was £409 13s lOd and from outward cargo £324 2s sd, making a total of £733 16s 3d. The chief item on the expenditure side is labour £513 13s 3d. PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE. The accounts of the Publio Trust Office for the year ended March 31 last show that the balances in hand totalled £2,152,343, tho chief items being as follows:—Willfi and trusts £1,471,904, intestacies £137,751, Government Railways Superannuation Fund. £110,736, mental patients £81,615, West Coast settlement reserves £48,645, Civil Service Reform Act, 1886, £47,402. The balance to credit of the profit and Ices account on March 31 was £47,551 19s 2d. The chief sources of revenue wero ae follows :—Balance from previous year £38.844 5s sd, commission and charges £16j844, interest, being surplus from investments, £15,688.
