IMPERIAL POLITICS.
MR LLOYD GEORGE ON THE LORDS. REFORMS OF THE FUTURE. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 22. Mr Lloyd George states that government by favoured families has ended, and that government by the people has really begun, and is already dealing with tho feudal system, land tithe oppression and priestcraft. Next year it is intended to have free schools and lands, and if the House of Lords barred the way they would be settled also. He said that the House of, Lords could play at being legislators as long as they pleased. He desoribed Mr Balfour as an ideal leader of the highest type of statesmanship of graceful incompetence.
TELEGRAPH CONVENTION. LONDON, July 23
Mr Beaton appealed to Mr Sydney Buxton to postpone adhesion to the Radio-telegraphic Convention held in Berlin. The "Times" suggests convening a subsidiary Imperial Conference to inquire into the Convention, so that the Empire may act as a corporate whole whether it will adhere or abstain.
