MARIE HALL CONCERT.

TO THE KDIIOK. ' Sir, —In, response to au advertise* ment in the “Times” I went to Hie Majesty’s Theatre last evening in hope* of hearing Mias Hall. Prices wore advertised at 6s, 4s and 2s, At 7.45 3a was demanded as the lowest price of admission, I opened the door, and saw the body of the theatre three part* full, and the back part absolutely empty. While I waited 1 saw eighteen persons, whose 2s was refused, indignantly depart. Several groups who had probably oomo a long way, like myself, after an angry consultation, submitted to the imposition of the extra shilling rather, than be disappointed. I had no extm shilling to spare, so had to gulp my disgust and go home. I woadd advise all who must hear her play to take an extra shilling _ with them or stay by their own firesides. If Miai Hall’s management descends to such tricks with her consent, it does no* tally very well, with her. romantic beginnings.—l am, etc., SHILLING SHORT. (Mr Tait, Miss Mario Hall’s manager* explains that owing to the size of Hi* Majesty’s Theatre, it was decided nob to open the pit proper for the serie* of recitals. Accommodation waa, however, provided for two-shilliui patrons at the back of the stalls, ana holders of day-sale _ tickets and early arrivals were given seats in this portion of the Theatre. After the accommodation thus reserved wart exhausted, late arrivals were given the option of taking seats at 3s down the side of the stalls or paying 4a for seats in the stalls proper. —Ed. “L.T.”)
