In the first rounds of the golf championships Gillies,' New South Wales, leads with 161. P. Hood and O'Brien, of New South Wales, tied for second place with 163. D. Hood was third with 174.

The weather was fine but there was a strong gusty wind for the concluding rounds of the Open Golf Championship. C. Clarke, New South Wales, carried off the honours with a score of 322. Souter, New South Wales, was second with 327, F. Hood, with 329, filling third place. J 3. Hood, 344, tied with Riddell, Victoria, for ninth position. Mr Gollan retired aitor the first two rounds of the golf championship.
[Feb, Press Association.] WESTPORT, October 13. The golf championships of the West Coast were played to-day, and won by Mr Horton and Miss Kettle, both of Greymouth. A drenching rain and high wind severely affected tho scoring.
