SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

A special meeting of the Addington School Committee was held on Tuesday;'present—Messrs J. A. Clarke (chairman), T. Barry, W. G. Burns, R. Ellison, J. Down, A. L. Gourlay, B. P. Manhire, j. Paterson and J. Spiller. The headmaster’s report showed the number on the roll to be 558, and the highest attendance 629. It was decided to take part in the tree-planting on Cashmere Hills car Arbor Day. The Board forwarded dual desks and furniture for the new additions. The headmaster reported having procured bulbs with the prize money won at the recent flower show, also that the museum case was to hand, and that a satisfactory collection of specimens was being collected by the scholars. Messrs Clarke, Barry, Ellison, Gourlay and Spiller were appointed a Ground Committee, Messrs Burns, Down, Manhire and Patterson a Bath Committee, and Messrs Manhire and Down a Visiting Committee. Accounts amounting to 32s were passed for payment.
