AQUATIC.
Oh Friday the dosing social of the Akaroa Boating Club was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, when there was a very large attendance of members ana friends. During an interval of the dancing the trophies for regatta and club races won during the past season, were distributed by the Mayoress Mrs Orbell, as followsG. Whcdch. Single Sculls (Lyttelton), Double Sculls (Akaroa, Lyttelton and Christchurch), Junior Fours (Akaroa); J. Woodill, Single Sculls (Akaroa), Double Sculls (Akaroa, Lyttelton and Christchurch); L. Ditoly, Junior Four (Akaroa), Junior Double Sculls (Akaroa and Lyttelton), Senior Pairs (Akaroa and Lyttelton); M. Kearney, Junior Double Sculls (Akaroa arid Lyttelton), Senior Pairs (Akaroa and Lyttelton); B. W. Henning. Junior Fours (Akaroa); F. Weston ra, Junior Fours / (Akaroa); W. Monro. Youths’ Fours (Akaroa), Youths’ Double Sculls (Lyttelton); 0. Walker, Youths’ Fours (Akaroa), Youths’ Double Sculls (Lyttelton); J. C. Bruce, Youths’ Fours (Akaroa); N. Hainpiond, Youths’ Fours (Akaroa); coxswains, E. Spooner, L. Armstrong and 0. Hemingway. Club races:—President’s Cup—A. Brown and E. Magee ; Youths’ Sculls (Barker trophy)—N. Hammond and J. Hayward. A trophy was also presented by Mr E. Noonan, who, with his brother Arthur (killed at Bothasberg), secured for the club the first regatta win—Junior Pairs, at- Akaroa, in 1891. The Mayor, in congratulating the club on. having another good season,, stated that crew's competed at regattas in twenty-one events, winning twelve firsts and five seconds. After the presentation supper was served, and then dancing was resumed until after 2 a.in.
