Yesterday afternoon a number cl offisons', principally visitors from South Canterbury, went to Lyttelton and were taken for a trip to Port Jervois, Ripa Island. Messrs Ray Bros, kindly lent their motor-launch To Whe.ru, to convey the party to and from the island, and tho visitors were shown over the fort by - Major Cooper, commander of the Lvtteiiou Artillery Division, and several of his officers.
