Steady rain was falling when the trainers made their appearance early this morning, and it continued until the breakfast interval, when the weather cleared somewhat. A cold easterly wind then sprang up, which made matters very uncomfortable. Paritutu, who strode over a mile easily in Imin 48Jsec on the plough, was the only horse to work fast, others that were out being given light tasks. Solution, St Joe and HaiudEomo Rose ■were out, and put in steady pacing. Tho trio are looking very well, the former especially so. After breakfast nothing' beyond half-pacing was accomplished by those out exercising. The following racehorses arrived from the north by tha s.s. Tarawora yesterday: Melodeon, -Starshoot, Zimmerman, Lyrist, Medallist, Sir Tristram, Golden Gate, Perdita, Mahutonga, Mystification and Mungista.
