MOTORING.
Tire commit-tea of the motor section of the Ohristchurcli Cycling'and Motor Club met on Tuesday evening, Mr F. B. Hughes presiding. Mr E. F. Stead wrote, tendering his resignation of the office of captain, owing to his projected trip to America. The resignation was accepted with regret, -arid the secretary was directed to- convey the hearty thanks and appreciation of the committee for the good services he had' in the - past rendered his club and the sport generally. ,Mr F. B. Hughes was elected captain; Mr G. B. Brown sub-captain, and Mr F. Banks to the vacant seat on the committee. was decided to run a Sixteen Miles Open Handicap -and-a Seven Miles Scratch Race, confined to-members of the club, on the New Brighten beach on Saturday, November-18. Messrs F. N. Sin-d-air and F. Smith were appointed to adjust the handicaps.
