LONDON, October 24, Mr Lacey, secretary of the Marylebone Cricket Club, in the Course of an interview, said that it was, altogether 'premature to assert that a Marylebone team would not visit Australia in 1906. .The club was perfectly willing to negotiate with any body—even the Melbourne Club or a Sydney organisation provided it were authorised to speak. It'was all-important in cricket interests that the days for taking an English fteam as a private enterprise should be past. Mr Jackson states that if a team goes it must go under Marylebone Club auspices. At a meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Thursday Association (Mr A. J- Lawrence in tne chair) the sub-committee reported tie result of the .interview with the Lancaster Park Board. It was decided to play the Association matches on., bom Lancaster, Park and. Hagley Para, the competitions to start on October 26. the ‘Secretary was,, instructed to arrange matches with outside teams. Messrs Hebden, J. Mahar and W. Mansell jroro appointed selectors- •
