Feldwiok, S. Harris, H. Horrell, G. Scott, H. H. Loughnan and J. Hadfleld. The chairman reported that a cheque for £2OO. had been received from the estate of the late Mr TV. Pratt for the relief of destitute patients. It was decided to write, thanking executors. . The House Committee reported that the tender of Hement Bros, at £22 ss, had been accepted for a new resistance panel in connection with the X-rays apparatus. The committee reminded the Board that a sum was placed on the estimates of the current year for improving the electric system, and specifications were obtained. The present was a suitable time for carrying out the work. The committee appointed in regard to the consumption or ooai was not yet prepared to bring up a report. The report was adopted, and it was decided to call for tenders for the electrical installation. A* letter was read from Dr TV. B. Ainger to Dr Crooke, stating that_ he had decided to give a new harmonium to the hospital, as a proof of his appreciation of the great kindnuess he had received while he was a patient. It was decided to write, thanking Dr Ainger for his gift. The South Canterbury Hospital Board wrote, covering the resolution, from the local Medical Association, suggesting that, as the Hospital Committee had thrown cold water on the idea to raise funds for a consumptive sanitorium by private contributions, the local members of the profession felt that the proposal would fall flat, and they thought that the Board had better take the. matter in hand and raise the funds by rate. The South Canterbury Board therefore asked the North Canterbury Board to defer taking action in regal’d to the former Board’s position until its next meetCvOJiJsi<3.Gra'tioii of matter was li&lcL
