PIGEON-FLYING.

Tho Christchurch Homing Pigeon Society flew off a race from Invercargill on Saturday, twelve owners sending twenty-six birds. The birds were liberated at 7.7 a.m. in fine weather, with no wind. The winner was Mr p. Unwin’s Dudley, which traversed tho distance of 289 miles 1575yds in Bhr 16min 31sec. The Society desires to thank the stationmaster for attending to and liberating tbo birds.
