The seoreia.y of the Amberley Steeplechase Club reported that in the Widpara Trot a protest had been oulered by J. Milne, the r.der of Lexter, against J. Hanna, the driver oi Wild Wind, who finished second, on the ground of interference. Tho stewards, acting on their own mot.on, had inquired into the running of Wild Wind, and had disqualified her for tho race, on riie ground of deliberate pulling. They further decided to report the matter to the Trotting Association, to take further action if it was thought necessary. The president recommended that the club should be informed that it should meet and fix tho term of disqualification, and 1 then report the result to the Association for endorsement. This suggestion was agreed to, tho secretary to point out to the club tha rules bearing on the case. An application from It. Post, for the removal of his disqualification, supported by a petition from, Tasmania, was declined. The disqualification of the horse Apology, for competing in an unregistered trot at the Eketahuna Show, was removed. The application of tho New Brighton Trotting Club for permission to hold its meeting on October 7 and 11, on the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s ground, was granted. The .Waimangavoa Trotting Club was affiliated to the Association. Programmes, as recommended by the executive, were passed. Licenses, as recommended by the Licensing Committee, were granted, that of E. M’Keweu being granted with a caution. On the recommendation of the Foreign. Horse Committee certificates were granted to Lady Julian (late Julian), M’ss Vermont, Hattie Tioh, Prince Turx’e, Lndy Tuxedo. Redeemer, Joe Davis, Lady Kate. OliVe (late Jessie) and Lady Chieftain. The committee further reported that as importers cf fo-eign horses frequently exceeded the time allowed in which to comn’oto registration, the committee recommended that fines in such cases should bo inflicted, in accordance with tho rules. In the caso of Lady Chieftain, the committee had imposed a fine of £5 on .the owner. 0. Dalton, for late registration. In tho case of Olivo (Into Jess’el tho owner “ Oeo. Stafford,” had been disqun’ified for life, and it was useless "fining him for breach of rule.
