OPERA HOUSE.

There was a large audience at the Opera House on Saturday evening, when a number of members of Messrs Fuller and Sons' company made their last appearances. Mr Fred Rivenhall, who has become a firm favourite with Christchurch audiences, was insistently recalled, and was heartily cheered for his singing of the song, " Following the Doctor's Orders." After half-a-dozen songs the audience was apparently unsatisfied, and insisted upon another song. Mr Rivenhall thanked the audience for the kindness with which ho had been treated during his stay here, and was applauded heartily. Mr Tom Hedley also made his last appearance, and was as successful as formerly in his "musical melango," having to respond to several recalls. Carlton and Cowan, the Irish comedians, gave a clever turn and wero " farcwelled " just as heartily and just as regretfully by the audience. Vantell, who has for some weeks been providing amusement by his athletic feats, concluded his season by a Cleveland daring triple bar act, which was received with prolonged applause. Mr Hugh Auxham, a ballad singer, mado his first appearance, and appeared to establish himself favourably. Miss Ethel Preston, a "serio-comic," sang "Ilosie Carey," and for an insistent encore danced gracefully. Mr Will Stevens proved as entertaining as ever, and Miss Florrio Calcutt, Miss Lavinia Tyson, the Madell Sisters, and Mr Frank King contributed items to a bright and diversified programme. The performance concluded with some excellent pictures shown J>y means of the filmograph. This evening Grossi, billed as "The Marvel," a thought-reader of exceptional powers, will make his first appearance, as will Miss Ethel Murray, a comedienne, and Mr Ted Stanley, a comedian.
