Png is still troublesome- to Leviathan, in which claim the wash proper is only a few feet deep. Mosquito was troubled with timber, hence the falling off. Nelson Creek return is said to be about 7ooz. Notown is expected to show- an improvement. The silt brought down by the previous week’s flood militated against Wellcome obtaining a. better return. The' machinery’, which has been thoroughly overhauled, is working well. Koh-i-noor, wash is hard and the timber troublesome, hence thq falling-off. Very little progress was made before the river fell and tho dredge was stranded. Later on she was ip-floated and moored in tho middle of the river, but want of funds precluded the resumption. of_ work. The dredge was tho joint property of tho Great Lead and' Ivapai Companies, -having bought a half-share for £3250. The Kapai Company had proposed to ouy out the Great Lead Company’s interest in dredge, and claim. The directors of the companies’had agreed upon a price, and it only remained for, the shareholders to ratify" the agreement. ..
