A DESTRUCTIVE STORM.
GREAT DAMAGES. United Press Association —By Electrio Telegraph—. Copyright BRISBANE, Dec. 10. A fierce storm, accompanied by heavy rain and large 'hailstones, swept Toowoomba last night. All the gardens and nurseries were devastated. Water, in consequence of hail''blocking the escapes, penetrated) many business places, greatly damaging the stocks. Hundreds of windows and skylights were smashed in the town and suburbs, and all the . low-lying lands were submerged. The storm lasted half an hour. Over an inch of rain fell in the town and np to three inches in the suburbs! The frail Nvas piled in the streets for lours after.
