ATHLETIC.
The committee of the Pioneer Amateur Bicycle and Athletic Club met last night. Mr M. S. Brown presided, and there were also present Messrs W. J. Putnam, E. W. Cardale, A. Lowry, F. S. Harley, F. H. Harley, T. H. North, P. Menzies, W. F. Waller, J. L. Carl, R. Wallace, H. S. Batchelor and J- E'. Green (secretary). It was resolved that a fireworks display, athletic meeting and fire brigade competition should be held at Lancaster Park on Show Night. The maximum age for competitors in the Public Schools Old Boys' Championship, at the spring meeting was fixed at seventeen years. It .was resolved that all club standard times should be brought into
line with those of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. The club's delegates to the Association were instructed to vote against the proposal to adopt the centre system of government. Twenty new members were elected, bringing the number on the roll up to 286.
