NORTH v. SOUTH ISLAND. [From Our Correspondent.] WELLINGTON, Sept. 2.

The North Island representative team has been definitely chosen as follows: Full-back, E. M’Kenzie (Wairarapa) ; threequarters, Asher (Auckland), Wallace (Wellington) and Tregear (Wanganui) ; fiveeighths, M’Gregor (Auckland); half, Kiernan (Auckland); wings, Laing (Auckland) and Armstrong (Wairarapa); ' forwards, Dodd (Wellington), Tyler, Cunningham, M’Duff, Long and Nicholson (Auckland), and O’Dowda (Taranaki). The inclusion of Tregear comes as a surprise. Auckland has no fewer than nine representatives in the team. The South Island representatives will probably be picked on Sunday, when Messrs Evans, Harris and Galbraith will be in Christchurch. Booth . (Otago) is likely to be full back, and Smith (Nelson) has a rosy chance of being selected as fiveeighths. [Per Press Association.] NELSON, Sept. 2. The football match, Old Boys of Christchurch High School v. Old Boys of Nelson College, was played to-day, and resulted in favour of Christchurch by eight points to three. The game was very interesting and exciting. In the first spell Bong obtained a try for Christchurch, and Bannehr a try for Nelson, neither being converted. In the second spell, M’Millan secured a try for Christchurch, which Buchanan converted. No other score was obtained, though Nelson narrowly missed doing so.
