LAWN TENNIS.

The -airarual meating of the Lytteliwrn Lawn Tennis Club was the.d on Saturday night. Tihere was ia good attendance, llr N. C. Schumacher presided, and congratulated 'Mie club on a very successful season. The report anici balance-sh'set', which were of a satisfactory .character, were adopted. The following officers, were elected:—President, Mr N.. V. Schumacher; vice-presidents, Messrs T\- C. Field, W. Radclifie, G. Laaircnson, M.H.R., W. G. Shepheard, G. Lewini and Dr Upham; honorary secretary, Mr W. Cauming; horiortary treasurer, Sergeant-Major Webb; committee, Mesdames Claa-k, ©romley and. Piteoithly, Miss Galbra-ith, Rev A. H. Tre'adweil, and Messrs J. Stokes, P. Pitcaifchly and W. G. Stewart; tea committee, Misses Mahar. Thorpe and Maieolmsbn. It was agreed to >spen ths. courts on Saturday next. The New Zealand Tcinmnj* Association's-Champion-ship -MeeJting was held on the club's courts, ■and wais a success. Canterbury was defeated,- but this was partly owing to the wretched weaniher. The local Association also ■hold its usual championship meeting on the courts during the season,. The balance-sheet showed receipts £2B 17s 3d, and the expenditure £2B lis, leaving' a, credit balance of 6a 3d. The reipcrli and "balance-sheet were adopted. After discussion, .it was decided to adjourn the meeting until further notice to enable MlO committee to come to some definite agreement wilih the Lancaster Park Company in regard to the lease of tiua ground. . The semi-finail .round for the gold medal presented 'by Mr C. Balairet for ccmi-vstiitioia by the Lin wood Lawn Tennis Club was continued yesterday 'afternoon, when Mies -Nicholson beat Miss Simpson, by 6-4, 6-3.
