SWIMMING.
NEW ZEALAND SWIMMING ASSOCIATION*. A meet in a of the Council of the New Z"alard Amueur Swimming Association was held en Monday; piesent—Messrs George Hairis (president, in the chair). W. 6. Atack (Hawke's Bay), A. Francis (Wellington), and G. J. C. Smart, honoiary secretary. Correspondence whica had TOssed between the Sccn'tary and the Auckland Centie oa the amalgamation of the two New Zealand Swimni iig Associations and iho uansference of the headquarters of the registered boay from Auckland to Chris-tchurch was read-; also' from the K'igistvrr of Unclassified Societies, Wellington, acknowledging receipt, of the Association's mis. and stating 'that .minority had not been received from Auckland (o transfer tho headquarter*. It wos decided tha.l the President should -communicate with the Centie and the Registrar giving a full explanation of the position. The Secretary was instructed to write 'to the Wanoanui Club asking if it d*siied Wangamii to be appointed a Centre or whether the club would prefer to join the Wellington Centre. A ccm.llunica.tion was received from the GovernireEt staging that the grant of £IOO was now leady, and would be paid in+o tho Association's account 1 at the National Bnn'k. It was decided to hold the annual meeting on Nov. 1.
ADDINGTON CLUB. The annual general meeting of the Addington Amateur' Swimming Club was held last evening, in the. Addimgton, Schoolroom. There was a fair attendance, and the Rev W. S. Bean was'in the cibair. The report stated that, the club, had had a, successful season. The popularity of the -club■■was again noticed last season by the numerous entries for the races, and the increased attendance of the public. The balance-sheet showed, receipts £36 18s sd, .and. expenditure'£34 16s 9d, leaving a. credit balance' .of £2 Is Bd. This following 'offices were elected:— Patron. Rev W.' S. Bo.au; president, Mr W. E.: D. Bishop ; vice-presi-dents, Messrs S. Saunders, J. Down, H. G.'EU, G. H. Eliott, B. P. Manbire, T.' Maude, W. N- Seay, H. Hopklnscn., and F. Raphael; captain. Mr W. Jdhnson,; sub-captain., Mr L. Penrose ; secretary* .Mr J. Poison ; ddegatts to New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, MrW. E, D. Bishop and Mr J. Poison; committee, Messrs D. Gasbolt, E: Norris, D. Fraser. A Smith, W. Edwards, F. Schwartz and R. Gale; auditor, Mr W. N. Seay. .It wr.s decided to open the searon on Oct. 12.
