AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.

ASHBURTON. A committee meeting of the Ashburton Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held yesterday afternoon. Mr Edward Cookson wrote resigning his position as a member of the committee and it was resolved that' in view of the valuable ,-,ervices rendered by Mr Cookson 'to the Association that.he should be- interviewed before the resignation should ba accepted. Mr T. N. Digby was appointed supervisor in the cattle section, and Mr Bishop in. the sheep section. Arrangements for keeping stock in their respective places on show days are to be effected. Mr T. Harrison Hackthorne, was appointed a member of committee. An offer was read from, the Woolston Band to play at the show, but it was decided to obtain terms from other bands before coming to a decision. A loner list of private prizes was read, and appeared to give general satisfaction.
