MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

The .annual meeting of the West Melton Saleyards Company was held on Monday. The report and balance-'sheet., which were adopted, showed that the company had made good progress during the year. The •shearing-shed is proving to be a great boon to farmers in the district, as well as a source of revenue to the company. The net profit for the year was £9O, while the assets were estimated at nearly double the liabilities. It was decided! to pay the usual dividend of 71- per cent to shareholders. The following were elected directors for the year:—Messrs Watson, Bond, Witty, Nelson, Searle, Clarkson a ndl TosswiU. Mr Watson, who has been chairman of directors since the company started, was re-elected, and a vote of thanks passed to him. for his satisfactory conduct of the company's business.
