DOMAIN BOARD.

A meeting of the Chrisitchurch Domain ■Board was held ait the City Council Chambers yesterday; present—Messes W. Jacques (chairman), S. Weetman, R. Westenra, the Mayors of Sydenham, St Albans, Linwood and Christchurch. It was decided to reply to a request from St Mary's Cricket Club for permission to lay down a pitch in the North Park, thait permission would be granted on the • conditions that the necessary arrangements were made with the lessee. With regard to the open drain through the Park near the Hospital, the Drainage Board wrote to the effect 'that it could not see its way to cover in the same; that there was no necessity r for so doing; and that if the drain were coyered in it would be a menace to the health of the inmates of the Hospital. Mr S. Weetman, on behalf of 'the Special Committee which had been requested to report upon the damage done to the Parks in connection with the Royal review, stated that the damage had been assessed at £IOO, and it was ultimately decided to make a claim on the Government for £125 to cover damages and tenants' claims in both Parks.
