BILLS BEFORE PARLIAMENT.
Petitions, praying that Parliament will either- not proceed with those clauses of the Shops and Offices Bill which affect the relations of the employers with their office assistants, or will specially exempt the petitioners from their operation, have been signed by 250 employees imthe Christchurch offices of the various stock -and station agents, woolbrokers, mercantile firms, law offices and insurance companies. They are to be sent to Mr G. J. Smith, M.H.R., and one is to be presented to the House of Representatives and the other to the Legislative Council. -
