ROAD BOARDS.
ASHLEY. ' The ordiin'aiy meeting of iho Ashley Road Board was held <an June 6, all members present. 3Mr C. Han-is asked the Board to make a roadway to 'lids bouse. The Board decided 1 to inspect the- spot; also a fence, which Mr E. Feather asked the Board to repair. Mr Pulley applied for a slaughtering license 00 E.S. 32687, which was granted. Mr Thompson asked for a progress payment of £IOO on the cottage in course of erection, which was f -anted. The -Martdteville and Rangiora oad Board asked! thfl Board to co-operate with it in. buying small birds through the winter months at 6d per dozen.- The' sum of £5 was voted for the purpose. It was decided to sand the Ashley Bridge, and to invite tenders for 150 yards of shingle for Birch Hill Flat Roadi and 600 yards on Main Road'. A ballot was taken, when it fell to,the lot of Messrs Garmichacl and Dobson to retire at the. end of the present term. It was resolved! to strike a rate of |d in the £. Accounts to the amount of £176 17s 3d were passed for payment, and ifchs meeting terminated.
