OFFICIAL COURTESY.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In common with many others who witnessed) the review yesterday in flagley Park (-which, by, the way, was a great credit to the author), I was much surprised to see a mounted officer with a cigar in his mouth. This, I thought, was contrary to all military etiquette. The same officer so fan forgot himself as to address the Cadets (who, after the march past were drawn up at the back of the ground:) in a most offensive manner. “ Why the devil don’t you keep back,” he shouted. As one of the cadets said, “ If he is an officer, why doesn’t he speak civilly.” I, with others, thought if there was any necessity for them being put further back their own officers should have been asked to do it.—l am, etc. ONLOOKER. Sumner, June 25, 1901.
