BOROUGH COUNCIL.

SUMNER.

The ordinary meeting of the Sumner Borough Council was held last evening; present—the Mayor, and Councillors Bradbury, Hughes, Drew, Pratt, Smith, Strong, Senior, Rowell and Maffey. The Finance Committee reported receipts since last meeting £176 15s Bd, and .'accounts passed for payment £l3 4s 7d. .The Works Committee’s report was adopted. Mr Williamsen’s tender for breaking metal was accepted. Mr Ekins was appointed foreman of the Pumping Station. Fresh tenders were ordered to be invited for the Pumping Station Road. Councillor Hughes gave notice to move at next meeting that the Council should meet monthly, instead of, as at present, fortnightly. The Inspector reported that the notices issued to ratepayers regarding sanitary matters had been attended to in all cases but one. After the transaction of some routine business the Council rose.
