A ROYAL RECEPTION.

His Royal Highness the Duke of Cornwall and York has expressed his great pleasure at the arrangements made for his reception in Christchurch, and has graciously consented to hold a reception at the Canterbury Hall, Manchester Street, between the hours of 5 and 6 o’clock this evening. Invitations have been issued 1 by his Excellency the Governor, and it is important that- guests should he punctual. Ladies and gentlemen attending the reception will be required to wear morning dress, -gentlemen wearing black ooats, and officer® appearing in uniform. The limited time at the disposal of their Royal l Highnesses necessarily restricts the number of invitations issued.Guests will enter at the main door.

Those who ‘have received' invitations for the Royal Reception this evening and who have previously been presented to their Royal arc -informed^that they cannot be presented again, hut may bo present in the gallery as spectators of the function.
