[Per Press Association.} WELLINGTON, June 21. In the Supreme Court to-day, the Chief Justice gave judgment. in the case Peters v. Telford, an appeal from the judgment of Dr M’Arthur, S.M., who had given judgment for Telford, a jockey, for certain riding fees. The __appeal was allowed’, on the ground that Telford was not a licensed jockey. • The Court refused to grant a mandamus to compel the Suburbs Licensing Committee to grant a license for the Rainbow Hotel, Kaiwarra, which it had' refused on the ground that the place was not fit for habitation, ' A luncheon was given-to-day at Bellamy's by the Ministry, in honour of a number of soldiers who. have recently returned from South Africa, and Mr Charles Hudson, recently appointed manager of the Tasmanian Railways. The Premier presided, and other members of the Ministry were present.
