[From Our Correspondent] DUNEDIN, June 21. Mr Joseph El White, an ex-Mayor of the ' North-east Valley and a , prominent member of the Labour Party, in a letter to the “Star’’.denies that the telegram from the three city members protesting against Sir Joseph Ward’s acceptance of a knighthood is a reflex, of the opinion of the electors oi Dune-din and the suburbs. The Canterbury Chamber of Commerce has- received the following reply from Sir J. G. Ward, in'’answer to its .congratulatory telegram : I sincerely thank the Canterbury" Chamber of Commerce for its kind telegram of congratulation.—J. -G. Ward.” -• ' '
