SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The monthly touting of the Richmond School Committee was held on. Wednesday evening'; present —Messrs r’aull (chairman), Cardwell, Sorensen, O’Connor, Hilsoh, Rickards, Stirling and Potter. An -apology for,, absence was received from Mr Shaw. -The Treasurer reported a debit balance of £55 9s. The Headmaster reported that thenumber on the roll was 591, and the average attendance for the past font Weeks '613. It was agreed to close the school on Monday and Tuesday, on the occasion of the Royal visit. The resignation was accepted with regret, It was decided to invite the parents to a “social” on Thursday ©veiling, to allow an opportunity of saying “ good-bye ” to Mr Gray. The Chairman reported that a piano, costing.£3s, was now in use at the school, and the Headmaster intended to give an entertainment shortly in aid of the fund. A letter Was received from the Education Board announcing that £3 had been paid to the comnuttEe’s account to teach swimming.
