FOOTBALL.
The Canterbury Rugby Union has made arrangements with the Christ's College Rifles Football Club to play their -annual match with the Wellington College Rifles at Lancaster Park on Saturday, in conjunction with the Canterbury v. Nelson match. The game will start at 3 p.m. Special trains and drags will run to the ground. ' WELLINGTON v. NELSON. [Per Press Association.] • WELLINGTON, June 19. The representative football match', Wellington v. Nelson, was played to-day, and was won by the home team by thirty-one points to nil. Nine tries Were scored, two of which were converted. The visitors were outclassed at every point of the game, though .the state of the'ground may have ■had' something to do with their poor display. The game was really a scramble in the mud and water, which was ankle-deep all over the field. It also rained heavily during the play.
